Dermectin

Today we’ll be reviewing Dermectin, another of the thousands of stretch mark cream (creams) on the market today.

Dermectin Background

They claim the following:

Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair is a stretch mark cream from Pure Tek Corporation that has been formulated with a dual-action formula that can be used for stretch marks, wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet and other skin problem caused by weight gain or weight loss and of course, skin aging. This skin cream is notable because it acts upon the main causes of stretch marks and skin ageing and prevents these causes from ever causing trouble again.

All positive gains from the use of this particular cream are permanent. Once the collagen network in the skin has been improved, you wouldn’t have to worry about the skin problems from returning.

According to the science behind the Dermectin™ brand, stretch marks are caused primarily by the expansion of the skin during changes in the girth and dimension of the body. Since the skin is so strong in the first place, what causes the tearing? Pregnancy is often the top cause, because the unborn child requires a lot of space to grow adequately within the 9-month pregnancy period.

Duh, I’m sure you’re thinking.  Me too.

You don’t have to suffer from stretch marks accrued during pregnancy because Dermectin™ has been designed to go straight to the roots of stretch marks to eliminate the entire problem. From the skin’s firmness to the color of the stretch marks, Dermectin™ has got your problem covered.

How Does Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair Work?

Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair works by restoring the vital collagen networks that can be found directly underneath the topmost layer of the skin. When you get older, the protective and vital network that can be found beneath the topmost layer of the skin begins to flatten out, leading to thinner and more injury-prone skin. This is the first step of restoring the health of the skin.

I have to admit, this actually makes sense.  The science seems practical enough and is not something we’ve found to be present in most stretchmark (stretch mark) explanations.

Continuing,

By restoring the collagen networks, you are also restoring the nutrient channel for both of the layers. The two layers of the skin in question would be able to communicate more efficiently, and the skin would be able to differentiate between scar tissue and normal tissue again.

This skin cream also serves to exfoliate the skin. This is part of the job of the Dermacin™ complex, which is used in this particular skin care product. With the help of natural and gentle defoliants, the damaged under layer of the skin is finally completely removed so that new skin can move in its place.

The skin cream is also capable of nourishing the skin so that cellular regeneration and cellular metabolism is also improved. Polysaccharides and glycosaminoglycans on the other hand are responsible for keeping the skin highly hydrated and firm.

Dermectin Directions For Use

Apply a small dab directly onto stretch marks 2-3 times daily for four to six weeks. Do not exceed three applications per 24-hour period. Massage Dermectin into the skin with a circular motion until completely absorbed. You will start to see results in about 2-8 weeks (their claim).

Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair User Reviews

Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair user reviews have so far been positive, owing to the fact that many vocal users of this skin cream have been very vocal about their opinions about the effectiveness of this anti stretch mark cream.  Just by eyeballing the user reviews on the internet, a good majority of the available reviews state that the skin cream had been able to make the user’s skin look clearer again.

There is no other way to end up with smoother skin; you have to exfoliate. By removing the impurities in the first layer of the skin, you’re giving the new skin cells a relatively clean slate to work upon and grow. That’s the real science behind skin ageing.

At 8 weeks time, 37% of the test subjects in a clinical study stated that their deep wrinkles spread across the tapestry that is the body had improved. These wrinkles were usually on the arms, neck and face.  Nothing on the belly from pregnancy stretchmarks (pregnancy stretch marks) were tested.

Dermectin™ had been so effective and mild that people had even applied the skin cream on the face without fear of side effects. As for the improvement of the skin’s over all tone and color, 20% of the test subjects in the aforementioned clinical study stated that there was also an improvement there.

Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair Side Effects

Like most creams, lotions, and potions for stretch marks, Dermectin™ Stretch Mark Repair may cause rashes and some itching.  Just wash the affected area with soap.  Or, if the problem continues, stop using it all together.

Dermectin Ingredients

Found on a third party website, Dermectin ingredients include Active ingredients:

collagen, Polysaccharides and Glycosaminoglycans Inactive ingredients: Water, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG 100 Stearate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Sorbitan Stearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Butylene Glycol, Butyrospermum Parkli (Shea Butter Fruit), Mangifera Indica (Mango Seed Butter), Glycerol Polymethacrylate, Propylene Glycol, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Mentha Peperita (Peppermint Oil), Algae Extract, Arctostaphylos Uva Ursi (Bearberry) Leaf Extract, Echinacea Purpurea Extract, Glucosamine Sulfate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Hyrolyzed Wheat Protein, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamine A Palmitate), Propylene Glycol, Water, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Foeniculim Vulgare (Fennel) Extract, Lavandula Angustifolie (Lavender) Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Extract, Rosa Canina (Rose) Flower Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Sambucus Nigra (Elder) Flower Extract, AchillaNillefolium (Yarrow) Extract, Tocopheryl Acectate (Vitamin E Acetate), Urea, Xanthan Gum, Yeast Extract, Triethanolamine, Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium PCA, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylparben, Porpylparaben, Sodium Benzoate, Caramel, Yallow 5.

A sizeable list we might say. But out of this entire list, they have only two anti aging ingredients, collagen and palmitoyl oligopeptide. But they list the peptide as an inactive ingredient, which is certainly unexpected. Otherwise, they have a bunch of moisturizers and really inapplicable ingredients all together.

Overall Impression of Dermectin

With over 100 different ingredients, the highest concentration is probably around 2%, if that. That 2% would account for a top ingredient such as water, glyceryl stearate, PEG100 stearate, etc. Those found near the bottom of the list and of higher importance won’t even get 1%, which is still a highly insignificant amount all things considered, and inefficient in getting rid of your wrinkles.

So, despite the science in their explanation, it doesn’t quite show in their ingredients.  In other words, marketing spin might be at work here – persuading you with words, but not in the actual product.

Dermectin (+)

Dermectin skin treatments are easily available for sale through common drugstores.  The official company website provide clinical tests data done with Dermectin products to substantiate their claims.  The science sounds good – at least the words sound good.

Dermectin (-)

No customer testimonials are provided on their website.  In fact, not very many reviews were found even on the internet.

In conclusion, the Dermectin range of skin care treatments does nothing to differentiate itself from the crowded stretchmark (stretch mark) cream and anti aging market.

At the end of the day, you do the research and you be the best judge.
